Hi everybody! There has been alot more of you guys checking us out and we couldn't be happier!  Macon's Hank Vegas serve up some gruff'n'gritty country rock on their new CD The Things You Are, but certain cuts approach the effect of R.E.M.'s latter-day dream pop. The Athens vets(REM) were recording in an adjacent studio at Chase Park Transduction at the same time as Hank Vegas were tracking their disc with Producer and guest player David Barbe, and the Vibrations and inspirations seen to have seeped through the walls. -Jeff Clark Stomp and Stammer Sept.07 Hank Vegas is very excited to announce a three day tour with the legendary BLUE MOUNTAIN! Finally, " the things you are", the debut from Hank Vegas is available on Apple's iTunes and ready to be downloaded to your iPods. " Sirens of the Ditch", Jason Isbell's debut record, also from Chase Park Transductions and by Dave Barbe, debuts today as well. In other news for the band, guitar hero Nic Goodson of the Sleepy Horses has signed on to play a few shows with our boys. He'll be joining Hank Vegas at the Star Community Bar on Wednesday the 18, as well as helping out at the hometown Bragg Jam on July 28. Adam Smith (Drive-by Truckers, R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough,Lucero, Marty Stuart, Porter Wagoner) has delivered some great new press photos for the band, shot in and around Athens, Ga in early May. The photo phenom has also taken a liking to the new record as well, helping with management, publicity, bar tabs, and overall confusion, so thanks Adam. |
